A taste of the Opera

A taste of the Opera; from the Shingle Inn Bakery.

Established in 1936, Shingle Inn originally opened as a tea house and restaurant on Edward Street, Brisbane. Instantly developing a strong reputation with locals, Shingle Inn became a busy landmark renowned for its all-day menu, delicious coffee, high-tea, decadent sweet treats and famous cakes. As Shingle Inn expanded to almost 45 locations nationally, these attributes have continued to delight customers for over 80 years. Today, we continue to bake an array of traditional and innovative products from our exclusive bakery in Brisbane.

The Shingle Inn Bakery have launched a new item to their core bakery range, now available in cake cabinets Australia wide, exclusively within the much-loved Shingle Inn cafes.

Introducing the Opera Slice, dating back to the 1950’s, originating in France and now re-created by the Shingle Inn Bakery. This traditional dessert is light yet decadent with delicate layers of sponge cake, coffee cream and chocolate ganache filling. Perfectly paired with an afternoon coffee.
